Marathon is conveniently located in the pedestrian area in Senec and yet, parking your car right in front of the restaurant is easy. We open a cozy terrace during summer months.

Italian cuisine or steaks, everything for gourmands. Our bartender will make a great espresso or a cocktail for you.
COZY PLACE
Music never plays loudly in Marathon. You will find tucked away places for romance, as well as space for larger events at our restaurant.

Let’s not waste time: Lichnerova 14, Senec. We’re in a pedestrian area, but parking in front of the restaurant is free. Check out the map.
WHEN WE'RE OPEN
We’re open the whole week.
Monday to Friday 9AM – 11PM, during weekends we open at 10AM and stay open till 11PM.

the 1930s
The building of restaurant Marathon originally belonged to the Rajt family who used to manage a successful butcher's in those times.

the 1940s
After WWII, the building was later bought by the young František Varga who opened the biggest fashion house in Senec. He finds success.

Year 1948
More than 10 years of private entepreneurship is brought to end by communist nationalisation decrees. The shop goes downhill slowly.

SOCIALISM
The decaying shop is soon refashion into a drug store and souvenirs that remain in the premises of the building till the end of 80s.

EARLY 90S
In the early 90s, the souvenirs are taken over by František's son, Milan and his wife Mariana. In the year 1991, the Bistro Marathon is opened here.

BISTRO MARATHON
Bistro Marathon was very popular among the sportsmen of Slávia Praha, Sparta or Slovan. The first summer terrace is opened in Senec.

CONTINUITY
The family Varga are working in the bistro alone and after 4 years they start thinking about retirement. The look for a buyer that would keep the spirit alive.

THE RESTAURANT
Jasmin Bosnič and his wife, Amra, see a lot of potential in the restaurant. They rent the space in 1995 and eventually open Restaurant Marathon.

NOWADAYS
A few years later, family Bosnič save up enough to buy out the building. The present state of the restaurant is the result of many reconstructions.
